Richard is an experienced software developer with extensive experience in large ERP systems, integration, project management, and 3D graphics programming. Fun graphics and game programming projects: Direct3D, OpenGL. Richard has done a good deal of work developing 3D graphics applications in Direct3D and OpenGL. One project was a water polo game played among tsunami-sized waves in a giant wave pool. In another project he wrote real time image processing software that used a camera to control a fighting game. For one of these projects I used C++ and Direct3D, for the other he used C++, OGRE, and OpenGL. Game AI. As a fun side project in 2004 Richard developed an unattended AI "bot" system for Star Wars Galaxies, an online MMO. This bot essentially played the game and earned in game money. He sold this system to a gold farming outfit based in China. Richard performed a great deal of real-time image processing here, including a character recognition system that read the contents of the screen many times per second. This project allowed users to create their own scripts in C# or VB.NET and program in-game functions at a high level. It was far beyond any other game bots available at the time.
3D Animation in Second Life. Richard and Coralee together are the number one creator of animated creatures in Second Life, a massively multi user online world. All of the content in this world is user-created. The work I do there there involves a mixture of 3d modeling, texturing, and software development. I have created a system of keyframe animation and supporting software that far exceeds any animation done by others in Second Life to date. When we demonstrate my works there we gather large crowds. Developers and artists from around the realm are frequently begging me to reveal our technique. Coralee Lack contact info:
